Joy of the Night

Crickets chirped all around her as she finally rested her weary legs on the grassy hill.  The smell of a near by stream floated on the breeze that ruffled the wild grass against her bare legs.  It made them itch, but all she could focus her awe filled eyes was the pale piece of rock hanging in the speckled void of sky.  Its reflection consumed her eyes creating its imagine within.  This was the largest, and certainly most breathtaking, she had ever seen the rock.  The overpowering beauty of the sight causes her to lie against the plush grass and stare endlessly.  Closing her eyes for just a moment she takes a deep breath, consuming all of the smells that the Earth is giving up.  An inner peace and joy sensation rolls through her soul.  Here she is home.
